Angela punches like a girl

The main page of the upcoming baggedandboardedmovie.com is done but I've still got to make the rest of the damn site before I put any of it online. I'll be away for a week so I won't get to work on it for awhile, or post in this blog for that matter. Hopefully some fellow cast mates will keep things rolling while I'm away.

In the meantime, here's a fun photo ready for your captioning abuse:

Cue all the jokes about me making casting couch or nude scene offers in 3...2...

Jennifer Stone joins the cast

Last weekend brought us one more major addition to the cast of our film, and that's the lovely Jennifer Stone. Jen's role is that of a superhero who will kick all asses, yours and mine. Angela (God / Xenu / Flying Spaghetti Monster bless her) will be helping to put a costume together for our hero. Jen's awesome and we're excited to have her on board. I should credit the photographer on Jen's photo here, who has a web site at www.frankmattoni.com.

In other news, I've finally gotten the insurance aspect taken care of. I didn't opt for the additional $125 terrorism coverage so let's all pray that Bin Laden leaves me and my film to our own devices.

A peek at the first full cast rehearsal!

It's tough to want to show footage like this when it's out of context, and obviously it's also the casts' first shot at delivering lines together too. However, I promised an open, honest blog that showed as many aspects as possible, so (really late) last night I whipped up this little video which offers just a tiny peak into how our first full cast rehearsal went last Saturday. I hope you enjoy it.

And I hope one day this movie makes a lot of people proud.

I was all prepared to gush about meeting the whole cast for the first time. About how amazingly talented and freakin hilarious they all are. I'd even planned to go on to add how I was all bounces and giggles afterward...but then I decided that I'm not gay (in the non sexual orientation sense of course). Go team LGBT! Random side note; How the hell DOES Atoki keep his skin so even toned & silky smooth? A query for our next encounter.

Jon, Tim and Alex have such powerful energy to vibe off of. From the very first meeting I felt like I'd known them forever. Team Hamsterflap? They've definitely given me incentive to work harder.

So to sum things up whilst sounding as least mawkish as possible. You guys make me feel so.......

In Brightest Day

So it's been a full two days since our first readthrough as a cast and I figured now was the perfect spot to jump on the blogwagon. Now hopefully Ralph will stop haunting my dreams.

I had a blast at the readthrough and I can't wait until we get into the filming of this beast. I forsee fun times ahead for the everyone involved. I was glad that there weren't any divas present and especially happy that none of those "Actor Type" people showed up. Everyone seems really laid back but I am sure that the Muzak had something to do with that.

I will ask forgiveness in advance for any geeking out that I do about comics even as we try to rehearse or shoot scenes. This will probably get exponentially worse as we shoot on location at the shop. I can't be held responsible for any lists of suggested readings, t-shirts with strange symbols, catchphrases or solemn oaths that I might let slip. Also try not to be to bothered by hearing me say "he's so mad!", and "stop being so Skrully" over and over as World War Hulk and the current alien invasion of the Marvel Universe are taking up quite a large area in my head right now.

So let's all raise our magical hammers and prepare to do battle, for now we are a team and soon the villians known as re-writes,chasing the light, and craft services will be upon us. Stand fast trust your teammates and we all might see the other side of this epic struggle.

p.s.- I wonder what name our team will have and what will be our battlecry?

First Full Cast Rehearsal!

Today was the first full cast rehearsal, which was in the same room that we did the auditions in the Marriott. I know it sounds a little ostentatious to gush, but this group is incredible. Not only did they each exceed my expectations, but they're also a real bunch of cool cats and definitely the kind of people you want in your corner during a project like this.

I'll have a short video clip up later this week, but here are some pictures for now. Click the images for a full size view.

This is either a pic of the three leads, or an album cover.

Look at those faces.

The full cast, together at last!

...aaaaand already acting goofy.

What a good looking bunch, eh? There you are folks...the people that are going to make "Bagged and Boarded" the "Citizen Kane" of our time.

Wahoo!

Hello all, this is Vinny, or as Ralph introduced me, Danny. I am super-psyched to be a part of this project, and I can't wait to meet you all on the 11th. In the meantime, I'll throw my two cents in and say that the Ace Amoeba baseball comic cover is hilarious and has definitely gotta be used. And to have a sidekick named Jailbait?? Well, that is just spoof-tacular.

Ralph mentioned that I'm currently involved in other projects, and that is certainly true. I'm currently in rehearsals for the greatest off-off-off-off-Broadway production ever, Die Hard: The Puppet Musical. If you want to know more about it, don't worry...I'll be shamelessly promoting it at the readthrough. <:)

Seeya then!
