Music from John-Flor Sisante in Purgatory Comics

I haven't officially announced this until now, but Purgatory Comics features two tracks from singer/songwriter John-Flor Sisante. John-Flor has been my friend for about ten years now and he is one of the most talented people I know. He writes lyrics so profound that I often quote them elsewhere, he plays many instruments, and he has the voice I wish I had whenever I sing in my car. I've used John-Flor's music in past projects, so it's only fitting his songs appear in Purgatory Comics (he closes out the movie). In 2005, John-Flor was good enough to appear in my ultra low-budget (but award-winning...suckas) short film "If." It's one of my personal favorite scenes that I've ever done (perhaps for sentimental reasons). What a difference a couple of years makes, huh? I should also mention, while we're on the subject of "If," that this film also features the mega-talents of Laura Stone and Chris Wyant, both of whom have cameos in Purgatory Comics. And I'll mention that Kristin Fisher is in here, and now she lives in Arizona and I'm mad at her for that because she was one of my favorite actors to use. Boooo Kristin. Boooo.

Fenix Down Contribute Music to Film

The awesome rock band Fenix Down has contributed two songs to Purgatory Comics. Their music was actually put in awhile back, but just today it became 100% official as they signed on. You've probably already heard their song "I'm Ready" as I used it for the beginning of the official trailer. "I'm Ready" is also in the movie, as is a song called "Heroes Never Die." Fun Fact: Fenix Down member Jen was the first person to ever leave me a Myspace comment oh-so-many years ago.

Purgatory Comics Trailer

Well after six months of promises, here's the official trailer to "Purgatory Comics." I really hope you guys dig it. Making a clean trailer is no easy task, especially when you want to give people the general idea of your film without giving too much away. I might be a bit biased, but I like it. It gets me all tingly inside.

In case you're wondering, the three awesome songs in there are "I'm Ready" by Fenix Down, "Dressed Up & Messed Up" by Billy "Harp" Hamilton and the Lowriders, and "In the Spin" by Fox Vulpini.

Camille Jackson Joins the Soundtrack

The music of Camille Jackson has joined the growing soundtrack for "Untitled Ralph Movie." Check out her myspace page and give a listen to her song called "This Town," which will be the song used in the film. Camille is an acoustic/bluegrass type performer from Oregon and was kind enough to sign on to the project.

I'm thinking of putting up a poll with some new film title possibilities, including one I'm leaning toward. Maybe I'll do that this week. I'll be doing a new web site and trailer right after I get a title, and I also desperately need to either update or redesign the site for Warm Milk Productions.

Billy "Harp" Hamilton and the Lowriders Contribute Music to Film

Hey folks, sorry for the lack of postings. I've been a very busy and maybe a little overwhelmed recently. I will confirm that we're shooting an additional scene in late April, but I don't want to go into that until after it's filmed. Also I had to get an extension on my taxes (tax day for businesses is March 15th, not April 15th).

But stuff is happening. For example, a major contributor to the soundtrack are Billy "Harp" Hamilton and the Lowriders. Late last year I put out some ads that I'm collecting music. This band sent me a CD and I loved the sound. Now they've got multiple songs in the film since I've decided my character Evan also likes blues, soul, and R&B. Interesting fact: this American-born band is now in Bratislava, Slovakia touring Central Europe and the world, it seems. Fox Vulpini Contribute Music to Film

At this point I have about four songs edited into the movie, but the first band to officially sign on and lend their talent to "Bagged and Boarded" is Fox Vulpini. These guys are from Finland and their songs have really got me hooked, so it was a real pleasure to put their music into the film (during a very powerful and important scene, too). You can hear their songs and request them on their official myspace page. The song featured in the movie is "In the Spin," which you can download to your computer for free! Very cool. They're really going to play a big part in making this film work, and I thank them sincerely. Check them out!

Time to Build a Soundtrack!!!

Now that the first cut of the film is done, I'm going to seriously start collecting music for the soundtrack. If you or someone you know is in an awesome band with some well-produced stuff to donate, then here are some ways you can contact me:

2) E-mail me that you're interested, and post the URL of any web sites or download links.
3) Message me through the Warm Milk Myspace Page.

If I use your music, you'll be required to sign a form which basically states that you gave me permission to use the particular song(s) for the film, and anything related to the film (like promotional videos). The form also states that the music was donated at no cost. Piece of cake, right? Spread the word...

Your music could be in a real motion picture!!!

I started looking for music a few weeks back and one obvious question I got is "What kind of music do you need?" Now that a rough edit is done, I can answer it much better. Right now, the film has temporary music tracks to help me better edit the scenes. I'll be replacing all of those tracks with donated music. Here are the tracks that are currently in the film:
